We are all sinners, unable to save ourselves.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9

God is holy, therefore, our sin separates us from Him.

There is no one holy like the Lord, Indeed, there is no one besides You, 1 Samuel 2:2a

but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God,
and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear. Isaiah 59:2

God is just, so He must punish sin.

He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity. Psalms 98:9b

But God is also loving and He desires that no one perish, so He graciously offers to everyone the free gift of eternal life. This gift is not earned or deserved.

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

We accept this free gift by confessing our sin and believing in God’s Son, Jesus Christ.

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21

Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out. Acts 3:19

if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—Ephesians 2:4-5
